Daniel J. Agustus, PhD

Proud to join the Rocket Medical family in April 2024 Daniel is an experienced Managing Director, running a highly successful, high growth business within the medical healthcare sector for the past 12 years. Skilled in Medical Devices, Sales Management, Biotechnology, Healthcare, and Immunology he is a strong business development professional.

Daniel has an academic background with a Pfizer sponsored PhD from the University of York on the topic of Bladder Cancer and holds a Master of Neuroscience degree from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology.

Outside of work Daniel continues to enjoy running having competed at international level and represented the UK’s top athletics clubs over 5km and 10km.

Robi Bernberg

Chairman

Since joining the family business in 1985, my journey from having qualified as a Chartered Accountant to developing new medical devices has been transformative. I assumed leadership after my father’s retirement in 1989, taking the helm as CEO. Under my stewardship, we unveiled a range of new products, expanded our operations globally, and consistently grew sales and profits.

In 2021, we strategically partnered with Röko AB, selling them a majority stake—a decision that marked a new chapter of growth. In 2024, I embraced the role of Chairman, passing the baton of Managing Director to Daniel Agustus, who is poised to steer our future endeavours.

Philip Gardner

Philip has been Finance Director of Rocket Medical for 3 years. Within this role he is responsible for the financial systems and processes, ensuring that it adheres to good practice, and provides support and guidance to colleagues throughout the business. He remains excited about the opportunities within the markets in which the company operates; knowing of the skills and enthusiasm that exist within the organisation.

After completing an honours degree in Accounting and Finance, Philip trained as a Chartered Accountant in practice before moving into industry. In the following years he has held senior financial and general management positions within both multinational and UK headquartered global companies. Philip holds qualifications in Finance. Marketing and Company Direction and is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Director.

He retains a passion for education and sport. He enjoys watching football and rugby whilst still actively playing cricket; still trying to improve his batting and bowling averages.

Alex Hay

Having joined Rocket Medical as a Clinical Sales Specialist in January 2009 Alex has built extensive commercial experience across a variety of roles, including Sales Management, International Business Development and Export Management. Today, as Head of Commercial Development, he is responsible for driving Rocket’s global commercial strategy, working in partnership with the company’s international subsidiaries and dedicated distribution network to support continued growth around the world.

Away from work, he has a lifelong passion for sport, both playing and watching. He continues to play hockey and represents England at Masters level where he has been fortunate enough to compete at multiple Word Cups and European Championships.

David Bull

David joined the Rocket Medical team in February 2026 as Head of Finance based at the Washington site.

Having initially qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2002, David brings over 20 years of experience leading Finance teams in manufacturing businesses across the pharmaceutical and engineering sectors.

He is focused on integration of the Finance function with other areas of the business, as well as continuous improvement of reporting, systems and controls, and is excited about the future with Rocket Medical.

Outside of work David likes to be active and regularly enjoys fitness training and various other sports, including football, tennis and badminton.

Gill Usher

Joining Rocket Medical in 2015 and is responsible for leading all aspects of Human Resources, including recruitment, talent management and engagement with an MSc in International Human Resource Management, Gill is passionate about supporting employees throughout their careers and building a positive, including workplace culture and organisation evolution.

A firm believer that people are at the heart of every successful business.

Outside of work, Gill loves to travel experience new cultures and their cuisines, her pets and live music.

Paul Whitfield

Paul has been with the company since 1998. He joined as a Design Engineer, progressing to Design Manager and now leads the Design function as Head of Design.

Paul holds a First-Class Honours degree in Industrial Design and a Master’s degree in Advanced Product Design from the University of Teesside.

He leads a multidisciplinary team of engineers, product managers, and marketing professionals, overseeing product strategy, innovation and the lifecycle management of the company’s marketed devices.

His extensive experience helps ensure products are delivered to the highest standards of performance, usability, and commercial success.

Outside of work, Paul enjoys cycling, running, and supporting his local football team.

Darren Johnston

Darren joined Rocket Medical in July 2009 beginning his career in the Injection Moulding Department, moving in Production Management in 2018. Darren ensures operational excellence, efficiency, and high standards of delivery with a strong focus on continuous improvement, he is passionate about identifying opportunities to enhance and drive performance, support sustainable growth and committed to fostering employee engagement and a positive environment where teams can thrive to reach their full potential.

Darren is an avid football supporter, enjoys international travel, live music, and taking part in park runs.

Laura Hutchinson

Laura joined Rocket Medical in 2020 and brings a strong scientific background, supported by her degree in Biological Sciences. As Head of Quality and Regulatory, Laura ensures the company maintains the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across its products and processes. She works closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement, uphold industry standards, and help deliver safe, effective medical devices to customers.

Outside of work, Laura enjoys keeping active through running and taking every opportunity to travel.

Yvette Martin

Yvette has over 35 years’ experience in the customer service industry and is proud to have spent the last 26 years at Rocket Medical as our Head of Customer Service and Distribution.

Yvette and her team strive to provide our end-users across the world with a best-in-class customer service.

Outside of work Yvette is an avid hill walker and spend most of her free time enjoying the beautiful countryside of the North Pennines.  The Yorkshire Dales and the spectacular Lake District are among her favourite places and where she regularly challenges herself by hiking to the top of the highest peaks.
